Mentorship sessions for female STEM students
Purpose of the project
Driving female leadership in science and technology
The Mentoring Session will focus on discussing issues like the role of women in the nuclear industry, leadership development, personal growth and mentoring programs, promising areas of study, and career trajectories for girls and women in STEM professions
During the discussion, Tatyana Terentyeva, Deputy Director General for Human Resources of Rosatom, will review the best practices of engaging girls and women in science and STEM professions and address the role of the mentoring system in Rosatom, as well as partnerships with leading international organizations. Geni Rina Sunaryo, Head of HIMNI's Women's Potential Development Department, will focus on the importance of the women agenda in the nuclear industry. Princess Mthombeni, founder of Africa for Nuclear, will share her experience in carrying out youth support programs to attract young specialists in the nuclear energy sector.
"The nuclear industry is an example of empowering women and girls in STEM careers. Numerous key achievements and discoveries in our field have been made by female scientists and female technological leaders. At ATOMEXPO-2022 we decided to organize an open dialogue among women-technological leaders, scientists, young professionals, and students on the role of women in the development of nuclear technologies, opportunities for professional and personal development through presentation of role models, transfer of leadership experience, and mentoring."
